I am grateful for your interest in Prospect on Main, a mixed-use building in downtown Hattiesburg, Mississippi, newly inhabited by passionate entrepreneurs, artists & cultural creatives, all seeking prospects for a brighter future.

Transforming an historic building into an exciting new marketplace with solar-powered business offices, a locally-owned, community-minded grocery store, an art & dance studio, and a fine arts gallery, has involved many people in our community. And I am deeply thankful for all of these collaborations. So far it has been a wild ride, and I’m looking forward to more creative partnerships.

This project is 20+ years in the making. It began when I first returned to Hattiesburg from Chicago (where I went to college and worked) thinking about the meanings of Place / Home / Space. Years later, with the resources to finally begin making visions reality, the undertaking began . The sale of this building, and its need for revival, presented itself as an opportunity at just the right time, in exactly the right place: Downtown Hattiesburg. The ideas behind the renovation, design and uses of Prospect On Main are the culmination of these various thoughts and realizations and my ongoing attempt to create a reality that is our shared past, present, and future as a community.
